ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the unsettled situation, it is with great sorrow that we must announce once again the cancellation of all cruises until the end of 2023.

All our vessels are docked in our Mandalay jetties, our “home port”, and are taken care of by our marine and hotel staff which is carrying out regular maintenance tasks including mechanical, structural and interior checks.

We do hope that a kind of normality will return by November 2023, and it will be pleasant to travel.

For the relaunch of our cruises, we have planned for the time being to operate only two of our most popular cruises: Myanmar Heritage (7 nights) & our short cruises of 1 & 2 nights “Between Bagan and Mandalay”. The cruises will be operated by Paukan Princess and Paukan 2012.

Should the situation improve, we will add more cruises and departures in due course.

Disembarkation in Gawein Jetty between (7am – 11am) (Remark : Only 1 Airline AIR KBZ operates Mandalay to Nyaung U in Morning Time / The rest are in Evening Time)

You will be picked up at Gawein jetty and Visit Sagaing, a former capital of Shan Kingdom and Myanmar Kingdom. Sagaing nowadays is renowned as the religious center of Myanmar because of over 400 monasteries spreading throughout the hillocks. After crossing the Inwa bridge (also called Sagaing Bridge), one can visit the Sagaing hill by trucks. The highlights include Soonooponyashin Pagoda, UminthonesePagoda, a thirty man made caves pagoda. Other highlights include silver smith and Kaunghmudaw pagoda – the giganticstupa represent paddy heap.

Transfer to Mandalay Airport for the flight to Bagan, Overnight Bagan.

DAY 02 AFTER THE CRUISE

Morning siteseeing begins with visit to the Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar satupas; Wetkyi-in Gubyakkyi Temple, with fine mural paintings of jataka scenes; Htilominlo Temple, noted for its plaster carvings; the Tharaba City Gate, the oldest extent of Bagan architecture. Afternoon visit begins with lacquer-ware factory, Myinkaba Gubyaukkyi Temple, a typical Mon style temple; Manuha Temple, a captured king's impression of life in prison; Nanpaya Temple; an earliest masterpiece with its fine stone carvings; photo stop at Seinnyet Nyima Pagodas, a temple and a stupa with exquisite design and Mingala zedi pagoda, one of the last ones built in Bagan; sunset from a small Hill/High Platform/ some Vantage point in Bagan. DAY 03 AFTER THE CRUISE

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for flight to Heho. Transfer from the Heho airport to the hotel by the lake shore. Inle Lake, located 900 meters above sea level surrounded by beautiful mountains of the Shan plateau, is the home land of the Inthar tribe famous not only for their unique leg-rowing style and fishing method but also for the floating gardens used as vegetable plantations. If by chance today coincides with the market day, we will visit the regional market which is held on a 5 days rotation basis in different areas of the Lake. We will visit Phaungdawoo Pagoda – famous for its richly gilded five small Buddha images; Ngaphechaung monastery (also known as jumping cat monastery) was built more than one and a half century ago and features a number of interesting old Buddha Images; silk and cotton weaving cottages and black smith. DAY 4 AFTER THE CRUISE

We explore the southern part of the Lake by boat sailing through small twisting and turning creeks to reach Indein village. This small village located on the southwestern bank of the lake is famous for its ruined clusters of pagodas dated back to 16th century. The tranquil peaceful ambience and the ruins overgrown with bushes will bring you centuries back.

Ywa-Ma village, gold and sliver smiths workshop. In the evening, enjoy the sunset while visiting the Inle Lake by boat.

DAY 2 BEFORE THE CRUISE

Breakfast at the hotel. The full day tour of Yangon commences with a visit to city center and Sule Pagoda, the landmark of downtown Yangon, followed by a short walk to the Strand hotel, a relic of the colonial-era legacy which was opened in 1901 by the famed Sakies brothers; Chaukhtatgyi, the colossal reclining Buddha, followed by photographing at Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake.

Afternoon sightseeing includes Bogyoke Market (formerly called Scott Market), where we can shop varieties of goods ranging from handicrafts to clothing and local food/ snack; sightseeing and sunset viewing at Shwedagon Pagoda, an inspiring golden stupa which is one of the best landmarks in Myanmar. If time permits, we will a walk at Chinatown area, the bustle point of Yangon.
