ITINERARY
3 Nights Downstream
DAY 1 : (SUNDAY) - MANDALAY (GAWEIN) – MINGUN
The embarkation time is 12.00 noon at Gawein jetty and cast off after half an hour time.
Welcome Cocktail and briefing in the Saloon or Sundeck followed by Lunch.
After cruising upstream for two hours we arrive at Mingun where we visit the impressive unfinished pagoda and the largest working bell in the world. Our English speaking manager (or your private guide) will accompany the guests during the visit.
Moor Overnight at a sandbank mid-stream. After dinner guests can enjoy a Dance and Drama performance by the Mandalay Arts School on the sundeck (if available).
DAY 2 : (MONDAY) - MINGUN – SAGAING –YANDABO
Early in the morning cruise downstream. During the two hours journey the passengers can admire the natural beauty of the river and the life of its banks while relaxing on the sundeck or just sitting outside their own cabin. Enjoy the sunrise over Sagaing Hill.
After breakfast passengers wishing to visit Sagaing can go ashore with the assistance of our Ship Manager or their own guide. We resume our downriver voyage at 10.30 hrs and we will sail all day long.
In the late afternoon we stop at Yandabo, a village specializing in Pot-Making, where the peace treaty of the First Anglo-Burmese war was signed on Feb. 24, 1826. We visit the Pot workshops, the monastery and the school.
Moor overnight near the village of Shwe Nann Tint.
Important Remark: The visit to Yandabo is highly depending on the water level and river conditions. The ship Captain has the sole decision making authority whether to include that visit or not.
DAY 3 : (TUESDAY) - BAGAN
Cast off early in the morning for the last leg of our journey Enjoy the sunrise near Bagan. Arrive Bagan around 09:00 hrs. Full day visit of a selection of the 2,000 listed pagodas and temples. Lunch on board and in the afternoon continue the exploration of the archeological area.
DAY 4 : (WEDNESDAY) - BAGAN
Enjoy the sunrise in Bagan. Passengers will disembark at Ye Kin jetty around 9:00 hrs.
4 Nights Upstream
DAY 1 : (WEDNESDAY) - BAGAN – BAGAN SIGHTSEEING
The embarkation time is 11.30 hrs at Bagan Ye Kin jetty and cast off after half an hour. Welcome Cocktail and briefing in the Saloon or Sundeck followed by Lunch. Afternoon visit of a selection of the 2,000 listed pagodas and temples in this archeological area.
DAY 2 : (THURSDAY) - TAN KYI MOUNTAIN SIGHTSEEING
Early in the morning cruise downstream to reach Tan Kyi mountain. Drive to the mountaintop where stands one of the four stupas that marked the original edges of the city.
Lunch on board and continue all the day upstream sailing.
DAY 3 : (FRIDAY) - CRUISING TO MANDALAY (VISIT YANDABO VILLAGE)
Cruise all day with stop en-route in the morning to visit Yandabo, a typical river village specializing in Pot-Making, where the peace treaty of the First Anglo-Burmese war was signed on Feb. 24, 1826. We visit the Pot workshops, the monastery and the school. Moor overnight nearby a village.
DAY 4 : (SATURDAY) - SAGAING AND MINGUN
After breakfast passengers wishing to visit Sagaing can go ashore with the assistance of our Ship Manager. Lunch on board.

DAY 5 : (SUNDAY) - MANDALAY - DISEMBARKATION
Enjoy the sunrise. After an early breakfast, the passengers will disembark at Gawein Jetty around 08.00hrs.

Itinerary Upstream
DAY 1 : BAGAN - SHWE PYI THAR
The cast off time is at 12.00 noon (check-in 11.30 hrs). We cruise upstream all day. Lunch will be served at 13.00. In the early evening we stop at Shwe Pyi Thar village for a walk. Moor overnight at midriver.
DAY 2 : YANDABO
Arrive Yandabo, a picturesque village that specializes in Pot-Making, where the peace treaty of the First Anglo-Burmese war signed on Feb. 24, 1826. We go ashore for a walk through the village stopping to some pot-making workshops to learn their unique production technique, the school and the monastery. Back to the ship and cast off. We continue upstream to the ancient city of Ava, capital of the Burmese Kingdom from 1364 to 1841.
DAY 3 : AVA
We explore Ava by horse-cart visiting the beautiful 200 year old teak Bagaya Kyaung Monastery, Nanmyin watchtower (27mt. high) and the Me Nu Ok Kyaung monastery. Back to the ship for lunch and proceed upstream. Moor overnight nearby a river village North of Mandalay.
DAY 4 : KYAUK MYAUNG - MINGUN
Visit the spectacular potteries-making village of Kyauk Myaung, and see the manufacture stages of the famous 50 Gallons (200 Litres) pots (1.5 hours visit). Cruise back downstream to Mingun. In early evening, visit the unfinished pagoda, the largest working bell in the world and the “home for the aged”. Dance and Theatre performance on the Sundeck.
DAY 5 : MANDALAY
Disembark at Gawein Jetty between 08.30 to 09.00 hrs.

DAY 1 : MANDALAY
Board the Ship at Gawein Jetty (11.30-12.00 hrs), welcome cocktail and lunch. Sail upstream (ETD 12.30/13.00) and moor overnight at a river village North of Mandalay.
DAY 2 : KYAUK MYAUNG - MINGUN
Visit the spectacular potteries-making village of Kyauk Myaung, and see the manufacture stages of the famous 50 Gallons (200 Litres) pots (1.5 hours visit). Cruise back downstream to Mingun (Eta 14.00 hrs). At early evening, visit the unfinished pagoda, the largest working bell in the world and the “home for the aged”. Dance and Theatre performance on the Sundeck.
DAY 3 : AVA - YANDABO
We travel by coach to the ancient city of Ava, capital of the Burmese Kingdom from 1364 to 1841. We explore the ruins by horse cart visiting the beautiful 200 year’s old Bagaya Kyaung teak Monastery, Nanmyin watchtower (27mt. high) and the Me Nu Ok Kyaung monastery. Return to the ship and cast off. Stop at Yandabo, a picturesque river village specializing in Pot-Making, where the peace treaty of the First Anglo-Burmese war signed on Feb. 24, 1826. Explore the village stopping to some pot-making workshops to learn their unique production technique, the school and the monastery. Continue sailing until late night. Moor overnight at midriver.
DAY 4 : BAGAN
Disembark at Aye Yar Jetty in Bagan by 09.00 hrs.
RIVER CONDITIONS WARNING
The Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers are subject to seasonal rises and falls of water level.
In the case of water levels being too high or low an alternative itinerary will be offered to Passenger.
Published itineraries are indication only and subject to sudden change. In such events alternative itineraries will be provided and we do our best to ensure that if a stop is missed we make up for it with another stop.
Though every effort will be made to ensure that the published itinerary is followed as closely as possible, given uncertain river and other local conditions, all schedules and itineraries may be subject to alterations and delays at short notice.
The ship’s manager and captain are jointly responsible for passengers’ comfort and safety.
